Owlumination

In 2026, as Otis Elementary students and faculty transition to their temporary campus, Owlumination ensures that their school remains a place of connection, identity, and pride. Through the creation and installations of artworks that reflect the spirit of Otis and the unique individuals who shape this community, students will be empowered to transform an otherwise impersonal space into a roost that feels like home. This effort between students, educators, and family volunteers serves to strengthen school culture at a time of re-nesting and reminds us that the school is not its buildings, but the people who bring it to life.

Owlumination is a student-driven art project that brings color, creativity, and spirit to the temporary Otis Elementary School campus. Through hands-on, collaborative installations, students will use their ideas and imagination to turn plain, functional spaces into vibrant expressions of our school community. Each project is designed and created by Otis students—with guidance from art docents and teachers—and will be displayed outdoors for all to enjoy.

In 2026, Otis Elementary will move to a temporary campus while their school undergoes construction.

Owlumination gives students the opportunity to:

  • Create meaning and connection through creative expression
  • Build a sense of belonging, identity, and pride
  • Practice problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork
  • Strengthen social-emotional skills and community connection

Spring 2026 – Create projects to display at Otis that will be transferred to the temporary campus in the fall

Fall 2026-2028 – Continued creation and installations at the temporary campus

Fall 2028 and beyond – Potential for permanent installations at the newly rebuilt Otis campus

You! Join Owlumination to be part of something meaningful—whether you’re a parent, teacher, student, or community member.
